Break-in period

~1min read

No special break-in period is required. Simply observing the basic rules listed below during the first 1,000 km is sufficient to optimize the performance, fuel economy and long-term durability of your vehicle.

  • Do not accelerate at full throttle.
  • Keep engine speed between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm.
  • Do not maintain the same speed for long periods, whether low or high. To allow the engine to break in properly, vary the engine speed often.
  • Avoid sudden braking, except in emergencies, so that the brakes can bed in properly.
  • Do not tow a trailer during the first 2,000 km.
