Tow/Haul
Towing Services

If emergency towing is required, we recommend that it be performed by an authorized Kia dealer or a commercial towing service. Correct lifting and towing procedures are necessary to prevent damage to the vehicle. The use of wheel dollies or flatbed trucks is recommended.
Towing the vehicle with the rear wheels on the ground (without a dolly) and the front wheels off the ground is permitted.
If any of the loaded wheels or suspension components are damaged, or if the vehicle is towed with the front wheels on the ground, use a towing dolly under the front wheels.
When towing with a commercial tow truck without wheel dollies, always lift the front of the vehicle, not the rear.
WARNING - Side Airbag and Curtain Airbag
If your vehicle is equipped with side airbags and curtain airbags, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK or ACC position when towing the vehicle. The side and curtain airbags may deploy when the ignition is in the ON position if the rollover sensor detects a rollover condition.

WARNING - Towing
- Do not tow the vehicle in reverse with the front wheels on the ground, as this may cause damage to the vehicle.
- Do not tow the vehicle with sling equipment. Use a wheel lift or flatbed equipment.
- Do not tow the vehicle with all four wheels on the ground (for example, when towing behind a motorhome or another vehicle with a boat), as this may seriously damage the Intelligent Variable Transmission.
When towing the vehicle in an emergency without wheel dollies:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
2. Shift the gear shift lever to the N (Neutral) position.
3. Release the parking brake.
CAUTION - Tow Hook Position
Always place the shift lever in the N (Neutral) position when towing the vehicle. Failure to place the shift lever in N (Neutral) may cause internal damage to the transmission.
