Emission Control System (SKYACTIV-D 1.5)
In this manual: Emission Control System (SKYACTIV-D 1.5)
~1min read
Your vehicle is equipped with an emission control system (the catalytic converter is part of this system), which allows the vehicle to meet applicable exhaust emission standards.
WARNING
Never park on or near flammable materials such as dry grass. Parking on or near flammable materials is a fire hazard. Even after the engine has been switched off following a trip, the exhaust system is very hot and may ignite materials. A resulting fire may cause serious injury or death.
CAUTION
Failure to observe the precautions below may destroy the catalytic converter or cause it to overheat. This will reduce vehicle performance.
- Never continue driving if you notice any signal indicating that the engine is not operating properly.
- Do not coast downhill with the engine switched off.
- Never coast downhill with a gear engaged and the ignition switched off.
- Do not keep the engine at high idle speed for longer than 2 minutes.
- Never perform any work on the emission control system. All inspections and adjustments must be carried out by a qualified technician.
- Never start the vehicle by pushing it or towing it with another vehicle.
