Continuous monitoring

The following components of the airbag systems are monitored by the diagnostic system:

• Impact sensor and diagnosis unit (SRS unit)
• Front airbag sensors
• Airbag modules
• Side impact sensors
• Airbag/front seatbelt pretensioner system warning light
• Front seatbelt pretensioners
• Related wiring

(With front passenger occupant classification system)

• Front passenger airbag OFF indicator
• Front passenger seat weight sensors
• Front passenger seat weight sensor control module
• Front passenger seatbelt buckle switches

A diagnostic module continuously monitors system availability. This starts when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position and continues throughout vehicle operation.
