SRS Airbag Limitations

In severe collisions such as those described above in "SRS Airbag Deployment Criteria," the corresponding SRS airbag components will deploy. However, in some accidents, the components may not deploy depending on the type and severity of the collision.

Limitations in detecting frontal/offset frontal collisions:

The following illustrations are examples of frontal/offset frontal collisions that may not be detected as severe enough to warrant deployment of the SRS airbag components.
