WARNING
Do not use the front or rear tie-down rings to tow the vehicle.
They are designed only for securing the vehicle to a transport carrier during shipping.
Using the rings for any other purpose may damage the vehicle.
Tie-down hooks
- Remove the towing eye and the wheel nut wrench from the luggage compartment (page 7-3).
- Wrap a flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool in a soft cloth to avoid damaging the bumper paint, then open the cap on the front or rear bumper.

WARNING
Do not use excessive force, as this may damage the cap or scratch the painted bumper surface.
NOTE
Remove the cap completely and store it so it is not lost.
- Install the tie-down ring securely using the wheel wrench or similar tool.

- Attach the tie-down rope to the tie-down ring.
WARNING
If the tie-down ring is not tightened correctly, it may loosen or come off the bumper while the vehicle is being secured. Make sure the tie-down ring is firmly tightened to the bumper.
