Spare wheel

This Mazda vehicle is equipped with a temporary-use spare tyre.

The temporary-use spare tyre is lighter than a conventional tyre and is designed for use for VERY short periods only. NEVER use the spare tyre for long distances or for extended periods.

WARNING

Do not fit the temporary-use spare tyre to the front wheels (driven wheels):

It is dangerous to drive with a temporary spare tire on one of the front drive wheels. Handling will be affected. You may lose control of the vehicle, especially on ice or snow, and have an accident. Change the conventional wheel on the front axle and install the temporary spare tire on the rear axle.

WARNING

Using a temporary spare tire may reduce driving stability compared with a conventional wheel. Drive carefully.

To avoid damaging the temporary spare tire or the vehicle, observe the following precautions:

  • Do not exceed 80 km/h.
  • Do not drive over obstacles.
Do not drive through an automatic car wash. The diameter of this wheel is smaller than that of a conventional wheel, so ground clearance is reduced by approximately 10 mm (0.4 in.).
  • Do not use a snow chain on this wheel, as it will not fit properly.
  • Do not use this temporary spare tire on another vehicle. It was designed exclusively for this Mazda vehicle.
  • Use only one temporary spare tire at a time on the vehicle.
  • To remove the spare tire

    1. Lift the cargo area floor mat.
Pour retirer la roue de secours

    1. Turn the spare tire retaining bolt counterclockwise.

    To install the spare tire

Stow the spare tire by performing the removal steps in reverse order. After stowing, make sure the spare tire is securely stowed.
