General Notes

The general notes on vehicle care for the Mercedes E-Class (4th gen., W212, 2009–2016) raise awareness of environmentally responsible disposal of materials and warn against using unsuitable cleaning agents in order to avoid damage to surfaces.

Environmental note

Dispose of empty packaging and cleaning cloths in an environmentally friendly way.

NOTE

Do not use any
  • dry, rough or hard cloths
  • Abrasive cleaners
  • Solvents
  • solvent-based cleaning agents
Do not scrub.

Do not touch the surfaces and protective films with hard objects, e.g. a ring or ice scraper. Otherwise, you may scratch or damage the surfaces and protective films.

Do not park the vehicle permanently right after cleaning, especially after cleaning the wheels with wheel cleaning agents. Wheel cleaning agents can cause severe corrosion on the brake discs and brake pads. Therefore, drive for a few minutes after cleaning. When braking, the brake discs and brake pads heat up and dry off. The vehicle can then be parked permanently.

Regular care of your vehicle is a prerequisite for maintaining its quality over the long term.

For care, use the care and cleaning products recommended and approved by Mercedes-Benz.

The Mercedes E-Class W212 (model years 2009–2016) provides clear instructions for the safe use of fuses. Fuses protect electrical components and must always be replaced with new fuses of the same amperage if they blow.

Handling the fuse system responsibly helps prevent damage to the vehicle's electrical system and ensures operational safety.

The E-Class also underlines its premium character in the details.
