Battery
The vehicle battery requires no maintenance, provided that the driving style ensures sufficient charging of the battery.
Short trips and frequent starts can cause the battery to discharge. Avoid using unnecessary electrical consumers.
Batteries must
not be disposed of with household waste. They must be recycled at appropriate collection points.
Not using the vehicle for more than 4 weeks can lead to battery discharge. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal of the vehicle.
Connect and disconnect the battery only when the ignition is switched off.

Battery replacement
Note
Any deviation from the instructions in this section may temporarily deactivate the Stop/Start system.
When replacing the battery, make sure there are no open vent holes near the positive terminal. If a vent hole is open in this area, it must be sealed with a blind cap and the ventilation near the negative terminal must be opened.
Use only batteries that allow the fuse box to be mounted above them.
On vehicles with a Stop/Start system, make sure the AGM (Absorptive Glass Mat) battery is always replaced with an AGM battery.

An AGM battery can be recognised by the label on the battery. We recommend using an original Opel battery.
Note
Using an AGM battery other than an original Opel battery may reduce the performance of the Stop/Start system.
We recommend having the battery replaced by a workshop.
