If the Engine Stalls While Driving
- Gradually reduce speed while keeping a straight line. Carefully move off the road to a safe place.
- Turn on the hazard warning flashers.
- Try to start the engine again. If your vehicle does not start, contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer or other qualified assistance.
If the Engine Stalls at an Intersection or Crossing
If the engine stalls at an intersection or crossing, if it is safe, shift the shift lever to N (Neutral) and push the vehicle to a safe place.
If You Have a Flat Tire While Driving
If a tire goes flat while driving:
- Take your foot off the accelerator pedal and let the vehicle slow down while moving straight ahead. Do not brake immediately or try to steer off the road, as this may cause loss of vehicle control and an accident. When the vehicle has slowed to a safe speed, brake gently and move off the road. Move as far off the road as possible and park on a firm, level surface. If you are on a divided road, do not park on the median strip between the lanes of traffic.
- When the vehicle is stopped, press the hazard warning button, move the shift lever to P (Park), apply the parking brake and turn the ignition switch to the LOCK/OFF position.
- Ask all passengers to exit the vehicle. Make sure they all exit on the side of the vehicle away from traffic.
- When replacing a flat tire, follow the instructions given later in this chapter.
