Replacement

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the lower driver airbag panel. (Refer to Body - "Driver Airbag Module")
  3. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.
  4. Remove the ignition lock (A) and disconnect the key warning/immobilizer system connector.
  5. If it is necessary to remove the key cylinder (A), press the stopper pin (B) with the ACC key and remove the key cylinder (A).
  6. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Inspection

  1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector (A) and the key warning switch connector (B) from under the steering column.
  2. Check the circuit between the terminals for continuity.
  3. If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
