Clean and lubricate drive chain every 1 000 km (600 miles)

Clean and lubricate the drive chain in the following procedures:

  1. clean the drive chain with kerosine. If the drive chain tends to rust quickly, the intervals must be shortened.
Caution
do not use trichloroethylene, gasoline or any similar solvent. These fluids have too great dissolving power for this chain and they can damage the orings.

Use only kerosine to clean the drive chain.

  1. After cleaning and drying the chain, oil it with a heavyweight motor oil.
Caution


  • Do not use any oil sold commercially as “drive chain oil”. Such oil can damage the o-rings.
  • The standard drive chain is a did 50vaz.

Suzuki recommends to use this standard drive chain as a replacement.
