Ignition switch

~1min read
Włącznik zapłonu

The ignition switch has the following four positions:

LOCK

Włącznik zapłonu

This is the normal parking position and the only position in which the key can be removed.

To turn the key to the "LOCK" position, push it in. The ignition is switched off and the steering wheel is locked.

To release the steering lock, insert the key into the switch and turn it to one of the other positions. If the key is hard to turn, gently turn the steering wheel left and right while turning the key.

ACC (accessory)

Accessories such as the radio can be used, but the engine is not running.

ON

This is the normal operating position. All electrical equipment is switched on.

START

This position is used to start the engine with the starter motor. Release the key from this position as soon as the engine starts.

WARNING
  • Never remove the key from the ignition switch while the vehicle is moving. The steering wheel will lock and the vehicle will become impossible to steer.
  • Never leave children unattended in a parked vehicle, and always remove the key. Unattended children may accidentally start the vehicle, causing a serious accident.
NOTE
  • Do not operate the starter motor for more than five seconds at a time. If the engine does not start, wait 5-10 seconds before trying again. If the engine does not start after several attempts, check the fuel and ignition systems or contact an authorised SUZUKI service station.
  • Do not leave the key in the "ON" position when the engine is not running, as this will discharge the battery.
