Removing

  • Remove sump (bottom section) → Chapter.
  • Unclip cover for oil pump drive sprocket -arrows-.

  • Remove bolts -arrows-.
  • Guide out oil pump with drive sprocket under drive chain.

Installing

  • Check that dowel sleeves -1, 3- are fitted in oil pump.

  • Fit seal with strainer -2- in oil pump.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

  • Turn oil pump drive sprocket by hand to check oil pump for ease of movement.
Note

Renew sluggish oil pump.

  • Fit oil pump with drive sprocket into drive chain and secure.
  • Install lower part of sump → Chapter.
  • Replenish engine oil and check oil level → Booklet.
