Key set

The electronic key is a remote control with an integrated mechanical key. The remote control has a battery that is automatically recharged in the ignition lock while driving. To recharge the batteries, use each of the keys at least once every six months. If the vehicle has Comfort Access, the electronic key contains a non-rechargeable battery.

When you unlock the vehicle, the settings of various systems stored in the memory of the key in use are restored.

Integrated mechanical key

To remove the key, press button 1.

The mechanical key fits the following locks:

► driver's door lock
► luggage compartment floor cover lock
► front passenger airbag deactivation switch lock

Duplicate keys

Additional keys and duplicates of lost keys can be ordered from a BMW service center.
