Central locking
Operating Principle
The central locking system operates only when the driver's door is closed.
The following are unlocked or locked simultaneously:
► passenger compartment doors
► tailgate
► fuel filler flap
Operation from outside
► with the remote control
► with the door lock
► with Comfort Access: using the door handles
When operating from outside, the alarm system is activated together with the locks. It prevents the doors from being unlocked using the lock buttons and door handles. When the central locking is operated by remote control, the interior light and the area lighting are also switched on or off.
The alarm system is activated and deactivated simultaneously with the locking system.
For more information on the alarm system, refer to the relevant section.
Operation from inside
From inside, the locking is operated by a button. The fuel filler flap is not locked in this case.
In the event of a serious accident, the central locking unlocks automatically.
At the same time, the hazard warning lights and the interior light are switched on.
