Power Sunroof
To avoid injury, monitor the sunroof throughout the entire closing process.
Always take the keys with you when leaving the vehicle. This way, children, for example, cannot operate the sunroof, which protects them from accidental injury.◄

Tilting the sunroof
Press the switch.
If the sunroof was closed, the glass panel tilts up and its sliding panel moves back slightly.
Do not attempt to force the sliding panel closed while the sunroof is tilted up, as this may damage its mechanism.◄
Opening and closing
► Slide the switch rearward to the first detent.
The sunroof glass and sliding panel open as long as the switch is held in this position.
► Press the switch rearward past the detent point.
The sunroof glass and sliding panel open automatically. Pressing the switch again stops the drives.
The sunroof closes in the same way, but the switch must be pushed forward. The sliding panel remains open and must be closed by hand.

About comfort closing with the Comfort Access function.
Automatic Opening and Closing
Press the switch past the detent point and release it immediately.
All further processes are automated:
► If you press the switch while the sunroof glass is open, the sunroof glass tilts up fully.
► If you press the switch in the Open direction while the sunroof glass is tilted up, the sunroof glass opens fully.
Pressing the switch again stops the drives.
Comfort Position
In the so-called comfort position, the sunroof glass is not fully open. This reduces wind noise in the passenger compartment.
Each time the sunroof fully opens or closes, it stops in the comfort position. To open or close the sunroof fully, press the switch again.
After switching off the ignition
The sunroof can still be operated for 1 minute after the ignition is switched off or the electronic key is removed from the ignition lock.
Anti-trapping function
If the sunroof encounters an obstacle halfway through closing, it stops and opens fully. The same happens when closing the sunroof from the tilted-up position.
In any case, make sure there are no obstacles in the path of the sunroof, because in rare cases (for example, if a thin object is in the path of the sunroof), the anti-trap function may not activate.◄
Deactivating the Anti-Trap Function
If there is an external threat, proceed as follows:
1. Push the switch forward past the detent point and hold it in this position.
The anti-trap function is limited, meaning that if the sunroof encounters an obstacle, it opens only a few millimeters.
2. Within the next 4 seconds, push the switch forward past the detent point again and hold it in this position. The sunroof closes with the anti-trap function completely deactivated.
After a Power Interruption
After a power interruption, the sunroof may only tilt up. In this case, the system must be initialized. To do this, contact a BMW service center.
Manual Operation
If the electrical system malfunctions, the roof can be operated manually:
1. Remove the trim cover by carefully prying up one corner with a screwdriver.

2. Press the retainers in turn with a screwdriver, see arrows 1, then lower the cover in the direction of arrow 2 and remove it.

3. Unlock and disconnect the motor connector. Moving the cover by hand will now be easier.

4. Take the hex key from the vehicle tool kit and insert it into the designated opening.
Move the sunroof cover in the required direction by turning the key.

5. Reconnect the connector.
6. Insert the trim cover into the sunroof cover, see
arrow 1. Then press the cover until it locks with an audible click.
