Rear differential control (DPC)
Operating Principle
The rear differential control improves the handling of the BMW when starting off, cornering and during manoeuvres. To do this, it variably distributes drive torque between the rear wheels. As a result, the vehicle holds the road better and steering response is more precise.
Display
The display in the instrument cluster shows how xDrive and DPC distribute drive torque.

Press the BC button on the turn signal lever as many times as necessary until the display appears, see arrow.
The drivetrain and wheels are shown as a diagram.
The segment indicators show the current torque distribution. The more segments lit, the higher the drive torque transmitted to the corresponding wheel.
Malfunctions
If xDrive or DPC malfunctions, the display in the instrument cluster turns grey.
