ISOFIX child seats

In the past, child seats were secured to the vehicle seat using the seat belts. As a result, their installation was often incorrect or too loose to provide adequate protection for the child.
The vehicle is equipped with ISOFIX lower anchorages on both outer rear seats and upper tether anchorages behind the rear seats (sedan: behind the head restraints; hatchback: behind the seatbacks), allowing child seats to be installed on the rear seats.
To install a child seat equipped with ISOFIX lower anchorages and upper tethers, follow the instructions supplied with the child seat.
It is recommended that you carefully read all the instructions on the following pages and in the documentation supplied with the child seat, and follow them strictly.
Your child's safety depends on it! If you have any questions or doubts about installing the child seat, contact the child seat manufacturer. If you still have problems installing the seat, contact an authorized service center.
ISOFIX child seat installation:
- Select one of the outer rear seats to which the child seat will be secured.

- Locate the two lower anchorages.
The lower anchorage positions are indicated by round marks on the lower edge of the rear seatback.
- Make sure that no foreign objects, including seat belts and buckles, are near the lower anchorages. Foreign objects may prevent the child seat hooks from locking correctly onto the anchorages.
- Place the child seat on the seat, aligned with the two lower anchorages, and secure it according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Adjust and fit the child seat according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Remove the unused child seat, or secure it by fastening it with the seat belt.
Warning Before placing a child in the child seat, check the temperature of the seat and buckles. Seat belts and child seats left in a closed vehicle can heat up to very high temperatures.
Warning Use the ISOFIX lower anchorages and the additional upper tether anchorages only for their intended purpose. The ISOFIX lower anchorages and additional upper tether anchorages are intended only for securing child seats equipped with the appropriate attachment elements. Do not use the ISOFIX lower anchorages or additional upper tether anchorages to secure adult seat belts, harnesses or other vehicle equipment.Using the lower ISOFIX anchors and the top tether anchors to secure seat belts, harnesses or other vehicle equipment does not provide adequate protection in a collision and may cause injury or death.
Warning Placing a child seat on the front seat may result in serious injury or death. If the vehicle is equipped with a front passenger airbag, never install a rear-facing child seat on the front seat. If the airbag deploys, a child in a rear-facing seat can be seriously injured. Always install such seats on the rear seat. Whenever possible, install a forward-facing child seat on the rear seat. When installing a child seat in the front passenger seat, move the seat fully rearward.
Caution Full-size rear-facing child seats may not be suitable for installation. For information on suitable child seats, contact your dealer.Installing a Child Seat Using the Lower ISOFIX Anchors and Top Tether Anchor
