<Hatchback>

To access the top tether anchor points, do the following:

  1. Remove any items near the top tether anchor point. Sedan: Open the cover and pull the anchor upward. Hatchback: Remove the cargo area cover.
  2. Connect the top tether hook of the child seat to the top tether anchor, making sure the strap is not twisted. If the seat has a double strap guide and an adjustable head restraint, route the strap around the head restraint.

    If the seat has a single strap guide and an adjustable head restraint, raise the head restraint and route the strap under it, between the head restraint posts.

  3. Tighten the top tether strap as described in the child seat instructions.
  4. Pull on the child seat to check that it is secure.

Warning Make sure the top tether strap of the child seat is properly connected to the top tether anchor.

Incorrect installation may prevent the tether strap and top tether anchor from performing their function.
