Washing

  • Wash the vehicle regularly. Always wash the vehicle in the shade, using Mopar® Car Wash or a mild car wash soap, and rinse panels thoroughly with water.
  • If insects, tar or similar deposits have accumulated on your vehicle, use Mopar® Super Kleen Bug and Tar Remover to remove them.
  • Use a high-quality cleaning wax, such as Mopar® Cleaner Wax, to remove road film and stains and to protect the paint. Take care not to scratch the paint.
  • Avoid abrasive compounds and power polishing, which can reduce gloss or thin the paint.
  • Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaning materials, such as steel wool or scouring powder, which scratch metal and painted surfaces.
  • Using pressure washers with pressure above 1200 psi (8274 kPa) may cause damage to or removal of paint and decals.

Special Care

  • If you drive on salted or dusty roads or near the ocean, rinse the underbody with a hose at least once a month.
  • It is important that the drain holes in the lower door edges, cowl panel and trunk be clean and open.
  • If you find any chips or scratches in the paint, touch them up immediately.
  • If your vehicle is damaged in a collision or similar event that destroys the paint and protective coating, have the vehicle repaired as soon as possible.
  • If you transport special cargo such as chemicals, fertilizers, de-icing salt, etc., make sure such materials are well packaged and sealed.
  • If you frequently drive on gravel roads, consider mud or stone guards behind each wheel.
  • Apply Mopar® Touch Up Paint to scratches as soon as possible. Your authorized dealer has touch-up paint matched to your vehicle's color.
