Safety Precautions
Please read this manual carefully before using the system. It contains instructions on how to use the system safely and effectively.
Do NOT attach any objects to the touchscreen. This may damage the touchscreen.
Please read and observe these precautions. Failure to do so may result in injury or property damage.
- Look at the screen only when it is safe to do so. For extended viewing, park in a safe location and apply the parking brake.
- Stop use immediately if a problem occurs. Failure to do so may result in injury or product damage. Contact an authorized dealer for service.
- Make sure the system volume is set to a level that still allows you to hear outside traffic and emergency vehicles.
Safe Use of the Uconnect System
- The Uconnect system is a complex electronic device. Do not allow young children to use the system.
- Listening to music or the sound system at high volume may cause permanent hearing loss. Be careful when setting the volume of the system.
- Keep drinks, rain, and other sources of moisture away from the system. Besides damaging the system, moisture may cause electric shock, as with any electronic device.
NOTE:
Many functions of this system are speed-dependent. For your safety, some touchscreen functions cannot be used while the vehicle is moving.
Care and Maintenance
- Do not press the touchscreen with hard or sharp objects (pen, USB drive, jewelry, etc.) that may scratch the surface.
- Do not spray any liquids or chemicals directly on the screen! Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to wipe the touchscreen.
- If necessary, use a lint-free cloth dampened with a cleaning solution such as isopropyl alcohol or a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. Be sure to observe the precautions and instructions of the solvent manufacturer.
