Exiting Remote Start Mode
To drive the vehicle after the remote start system has started the engine, press and release the unlock button on the key fob to unlock the doors, or use Keyless Enter-N-Go passive entry through the door handles, and disarm the vehicle security system (if equipped). Then, before the 15-minute cycle ends, press and release the ENGINE START/STOP button.
The remote start system will shut off the engine when the Remote Start button on the key fob is pressed and released again, or if the engine has been allowed to run for the entire 15-minute cycle. Once the ignition is placed in the ON/RUN position, the climate control will resume previously set operations (temperature, control, etc.).
NOTE:
- To prevent unintentional shutdowns, the system will disable for two seconds after receiving a valid remote start request.
- For vehicles equipped with Keyless Enter-N-Go — Passive Entry, the message "Remote Start Active — Press Start Button" will appear in the instrument panel display until the ENGINE START/STOP button is pressed.
Remote Start Front Defrost Activation — If Equipped
When remote start is active and the outside air temperature is 40°F (4.5°C) or lower, the system automatically activates front defrost for 15 minutes or less. The time depends on the ambient temperature. Once the timer expires, the system automatically adjusts the settings based on ambient conditions. For details, refer to "Comfort Remote Start Systems — If Equipped" in the following section.
