SBR system (seat belt reminder)

The SBR system warns front and rear passengers (for versions/markets where provided) if their seat belt is not fastened.

The system signals unfastened seat belts through visual warnings (warning lights on the instrument cluster and icons on the display) and an audible warning (see the following paragraphs).

NOTE To permanently deactivate the buzzer, contact the Fiat Service Network. The buzzer can be reactivated at any time via the Setup menu on the display.

Seat belt warning light behaviour

The icons shown on the display fig. 63 indicate:

• 1: front left seat belt;
• 2: rear left seat belt;
• 3: centre rear seat belt;
• 4: rear right seat belt;
• 5: front right seat belt;
• A: seat belt not fastened;
• B: seat belt fastened;

If the driver's and/or front passenger's seat belts (with a passenger seated) are unfastened, when the vehicle exceeds 20 km/h or travels at a speed between 10 km/h and 20 km/h for more than 5 seconds, a cycle of audible warnings for the front seats starts (continuous tone for the first 6 seconds followed by a further "beep" lasting approximately 90 seconds) and the warning light flashes. At the end of the cycle, the lights stay on steadily until the vehicle is switched off or the belt is fastened.

If the belt is unfastened again while driving, the audible warning resumes as described above and the icon is displayed.

For the rear seats, the warning is given only when any of the belts is unfastened, together with an audible warning of three beeps. When the status of any seat belt (front or rear) changes, the status of the other seat belts (front/rear) will also be shown.

If several belts are unfastened, the visual warning (display of the icon) starts and stops independently for each light. The warning will change state (display of the icon) when the respective seat belt is fastened again.

WARNING: If you turn the ignition key to the ON position when all seat belts (front and rear) are already fastened, the icons will be displayedfor a period of 30 seconds.
