Seat belt height adjustment

~2min read

(depending on version/market, where fitted)

The height can be adjusted in 4 different positions. To adjust it, press button A fig. 61 and raise or lower handle B.

Always adjust the height of the belts to suit the build of the occupants: this precaution can significantly reduce the risk of injury in a collision.

The correct adjustment is achieved when the belt passes approximately midway between the end of the shoulder and the neck.

On some versions, the front seat belts have only one fixed anchor point located on the door pillar.

WARNING 78) Do not press button C fig. 58 while driving.

79) Remember that in a violent impact, rear passengers who do not wear their seat belts not only expose themselves to a serious risk, but also endanger the occupants of the front seats.

80) The rear centre seat belt (for versions/markets where provided) is fitted with a service buckle fig. 62. Do not use the seat belt with the service buckle unfastened. In this case, in the event of an accident, there is a high risk of injury or death. Before using the belt, always check that the service buckle is correctly fastened.

81) The right and left rear side seat belts are equipped with a device for adjusting the position of the metal latch plate (metal hook). It is recommended to adjust the position of the latch plate relative to the seat belt webbing to improve comfort and reduce noise inside the passenger compartment.

82) The height of the seat belts must be adjusted with the vehicle stationary.

83) After adjusting the height, always check that the slider to which the loop is attached is locked in one of the designated positions. With button A fig. 61 released, push down further to allow the anchor device to click into place if it did not lock in one of the set positions.
