Learning voice commands

~3min read

During voice interaction with the system, you can always say the voice command "Help" to get detailed guidance on the voice commands available at each stage of the interaction.

To practise the "Help" command, do the following:

  • Press the button on the steering wheeland
after Blue&Me emits a beep indicating that voice recognition is active, say "Help". Blue&Me will read out the list of available voice commands.
  • At the end of the help message, say "Settings", then "Help". Blue&Me will repeat the list of voice commands available in the Settings menu.
  • At this point you can say one of the available commands and continue the voice interaction as desired. If you need further help, press
    and say "Help".

To register a mobile phone, do the following:

  • Pressand say
"Settings", then after the message from Blue&Me has finished, say "Register user". The display in the instrument cluster will show a code number (PIN) that must be used to complete the registration.

The next two steps are described in your mobile phone's owner's manual.

  • On your mobile phone, look for Bluetooth devices (this function may be called "Search" or "New device", for example). In the list shown, find the entry "Blue&Me" (the name identifying the Blue&Me system on the mobile phone) and select it.
  • When requested by the mobile phone, enter the PIN shown on the display using the mobile phone's keys. If registration succeeds, the system says "Connection in progress" and, once complete, the identifier of the registered mobile phone appears on the display as confirmation.

It is important to wait for this confirmation message. If the/MENU or /
button is pressed before this message appears, the registration process may be cancelled. If registration fails, an error message will be displayed; in that case the procedure must be repeated.

  • After registering your mobile phone, Blue&Me will say "Welcome" at the first connection. This message will not be repeated during subsequent registrations or connections with the same phone.
  • Blue&Me will ask whether you want to copy the phone book from your mobile phone immediately after registering it in the Blue&Me system. Copying the phone book is recommended. To start copying, answer "Yes"; to not copy the phone book, answer "No". On some mobile phones, names in the phone book are not copied automatically and must be entered by the user using the mobile phone keypad. If Blue&Me requests this, carry out the procedure according to the instructions specific to your mobile phone, then press the end button/MENU.

Making a call

Imagine that "John" is one of the names stored in the phone book.

To call "John", press the button on the steering wheel
and say "Call John". If the system recognises the name John, it will show the information corresponding to that name in the phone book on the display.

If the phone book contains only one phone number for John, the system will ask directly whether you want to call John. To place the call, say "Yes"; otherwise, say "No".

If there is more than one phone number for "John", the system will ask which type of number you want to call (e.g. "Call John work or home?").

Reply by naming the type of number you want (e.g.

"Home").

If there is more than one phone number for "John" and no number type is specified, the name and the list of matching phone numbers will appear on the system display. The hands-free system will ask whether you want to call the displayed number. If the displayed number is the one you want, say "Yes"; otherwise, say "No". If the correct person is selected but the number is wrong, say "Next" or "Back" to view the other phone numbers stored for that person.

To call the displayed number, say "Call". You can also scroll through the phone book manually by pressing the buttons on the steering wheeluntil
the desired number is found. At that point, press/MENU
or SRC/OK to place the call.

Ending a call: press/MENU.
