Removal

  1. REFER TO: Pyrotechnic Device Handling Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
  2. Disable the SRS.
    Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Disabling (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, General Procedures).
    1. Remove the driver knee air bag mounting screws.
      Torque: 71 lb-in (8 N·m)
    1. Lower the driver knee air bag.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the driver knee air bag.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  2. Reset the SRS.
    Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Reset (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, General Procedures).
