Removal and Installation — Headliner — Lowering

Special Service Tools / General Equipment

1. 1
   Remove the following components:
   

   1. Both sides.
      Remove the front pillar trim panel.
      Refer to: Front Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

   2. Both sides.
      Remove the upper center pillar trim panel.
      Refer to: Center Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

   3. Both sides.
      Remove the rear pillar trim panel.
      Refer to: Rear Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

   LH side.
   Move the headliner wiring harness aside.
   

   1. Disconnect the headliner wiring harness electrical connector.

   2. Release the headliner wiring harness retainers.

   

3. 3
   RH side.
   Move the headliner wiring harness aside.
   

   1. Disconnect the headliner wiring harness electrical connectors.

   2. Release the headliner wiring harness retainers.

   

4. 4
   RH side.
   Move the rear washer hose aside.
   

   1. Disconnect the rear washer hose.
      Refer to: Washer Hose Coupling (501-16 Wipers and Washers, General Procedures).

   2. Release the rear washer hose from the retainers.

   

5. 5
   Both sides.
   Remove the sun visor.
   

   1. Move the sun visor screw cover aside.

   2. Remove the sun visor screw.

   3. Rotate the sun visor downward.

   4. If equipped.
      Disconnect the sun visor electrical connector.

   Both sides.
   Remove the sun visor screw and clip.

   

7. 7
   If equipped.
   Release the retainers and remove the rearview mirror cover.
   Use the common service equipment: interior trim remover.

   

8. 8
   If equipped.
   Disconnect the rearview mirror electrical connector.

   

9. 9
   RH side.
   Remove the front assist handle.
   

   1. Lower the front assist handle.

   2. Remove the front assist handle retainers.
      Use the common service equipment: hook

   

10. 10
    Both sides.
    Remove the rear assist handle.
    

    1. Lower the rear assist handle.

    2. Remove the rear assist handle retainers.
       Use the common service equipment: hook

    

11. 11
    RH side.
    Disconnect the rear washer hose.
    Refer to: Washer Hose Coupling (501-16 Wipers and Washers, General Procedures).

    

12. 12
    Position the front seats in the fully reclined position.

    

13. 13
    Both sides.
    Fold the rear seat back to the horizontal position.

    

14. 14
    Lower the headliner.
