Wipers and Washers

Windshield wipers (if equipped)

~1min read

Wet or winter driving conditions with ice, snow, or road salt spray may cause inconsistent and unexpected wiping or smearing.

A - High sensitivity.

B - Automatic wipers on.

C - Low sensitivity.

Use the rotary control to adjust the sensitivity of the automatic wipers. When you select low sensitivity, the wipers operate when the sensor detects a large amount of water on the windshield. When you select high sensitivity, the wipers operate when the sensor detects a small amount of water on the windshield.

Keep the outside of the windshield clean. The rain sensor is very sensitive and the wipers may activate if dirt, fog, or insects are on the windshield.

In these conditions, you can do the following:

  • Decrease the sensitivity of the automatic wipers to reduce smearing on the windshield.
  • Switch to normal or high speed wiping.
  • Turn off the automatic wipers.

Automatic Wiper Settings

The automatic wipers are on by default and remain on until you turn them off in the information display. When the automatic wipers are off, the wipers operate in intermittent mode.
