Transfer Case
The transfer case is a gearbox that is attached to the transmission output shaft. Torque is transferred from the transmission to the rear driveshaft through the transfer case main shaft via the splined input in the transfer case. When front axle torque is required, it is transferred through a multi-plate wet clutch and chain drive arrangement to the transfer case front output shaft.
