General Procedures - Cylinder Bore Taper

Check

1. Measure the cylinder bore diameter at the top, middle, and bottom of the piston ring travel in 2 directions, as shown. Check that the cylinder bore is within the wear limit. A difference indicates cylinder bore taper. If the cylinder bore taper does not meet specification, bore the cylinder to the next oversize limit.
