Inspection

  1. Clean and inspect (1) the ring lands, (2) the pin bores, (3) the skirts and (4) the piston crowns. If wear, scuffing or glazing is found on the piston skirt, check the connecting rod for bend or twist.
  2. Using a ring groove cleaning tool, clean the piston ring grooves.
