Rear Door Removal and Installation

Removal

1. 1
   Lower the headliner.
   Refer to: Headliner - 5-Door (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

   Disconnect the electrical connector, release the wiring harness clips and remove the wiring harness from the luggage compartment door.

   Remove the grommets and remove the wiring harness from the luggage compartment door.

   NOTICE: Support the liftgate before disconnecting the struts. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the rear door.

   On both sides.
   Remove the clips retaining the rear liftgate struts and move the rear door struts aside.

   Remove the bolts and the rear door.
   Torque: 97 lb-in (11 N·m)

   

Installation

1. 1
   To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. 2
   Check the alignment and correct as necessary.
   Refer to: Rear Liftgate Alignment (501-03 Body Closures, General Procedures).
