Message Center - Overview. Description and Operation

Message center functions are displayed on the FDIM (6.5-inch display) or FCDIM (3.5-inch display) and are controlled through the FCIM or FDIM. The IPC provides most of the message center network messages through the Information-Entertainment Controller Area Network (I-CAN), which is used to display warning messages and message center indicators in the message center. The IPC continuously monitors various vehicle systems and provides the message center with the network messages required to display all message center indicators and warnings based on the inputs received. Some of the message center indicators are unique, and some are icons that appear the same as the information or warning indicators used in the IPC.
