Activation

  1. Apply the parking brake before disabling/enabling Belt-Minder®.
  2. Place the gear selector in the PARK (P) position (automatic transmission) or NEUTRAL (N) (manual transmission).
  3. Turn the ignition off.
  4. Unbuckle the driver and front passenger seat belts.
  5. Turn the ignition to the RUN position (do not start the engine).
  6. Wait until the unbuckled seat belt indicator turns off (approximately 1 minute).
  7. To deactivate the seat, buckle and then unbuckle the seat belt 3 times at a moderate rate, ending with the seat belt unbuckled. After this step, the seat belt warning indicator turns off.
  8. Within 7 seconds after the indicator turns off, buckle and then unbuckle the seat belt at a moderate rate.
  9. After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.
