Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Programming. General Procedures

Programming

   Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).

   Close all doors.

   Fasten the front seatbelts.

   Use the door lock control switch to unlock the doors.
5. 5
   Cycle the ignition from OFF to RUN and OFF 8 times in quick succession (within 10 seconds), with the last turn ending in OFF.

   Within 10 seconds, press any button on the RKE transmitter to be programmed until a chime sounds, confirming the RKE transmitter is programmed. After the first RKE transmitter is programmed, press a button on each subsequent RKE transmitter to be programmed (each within 10 seconds of the other).

   • the ignition moves to the RUN position.
   • 10 seconds have elapsed since entering the programming mode or since the last RKE transmitter was programmed.
   • the maximum number of (8) RKE transmitters has been programmed.

   Test the operation of the RKE transmitters. If the door locks do not respond to the programmed RKE transmitter(s), wait a few seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still do not operate,
