Warning
Before starting any service procedure in this section, refer to the Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

NOTICE: Do not remove the clamp from the fuel tank filler hose connection. The plastic tank is easily damaged by overtightening and/or repeated tightening.

Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

NOTE
The refueling adapter is located in the luggage compartment. Install the optional refueling adapter and the semi-rigid fuel drain tube into the Easy Fuel™ fuel tank (without cap) filler tube. Insert the drain tube into the lower part of the filler neck. Open the fuel tank inlet flap.

Connect the fuel storage tank to the fuel drain hose and drain as much fuel as possible from the Easy Fuel™ fuel tank (without cap) filler neck, lowering the fuel level below the fuel tank inlet nozzle.
