Disconnect

NOTICE: When reusing fluid or vapor tube connectors, always use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the connector retaining clip area before separating from the tube, or damage to the tube or connector clip may occur. Apply clean engine oil to the end of the tube before inserting it into the connector.

NOTICE: Fuel injection equipment is manufactured to very high tolerances and fine clearances. It is important that absolute cleanliness is observed when working on these components or damage to the component may occur. Always install plugs on any open holes or pipes.

   When servicing the spring-lock fuel line coupling, relieve the fuel system pressure.
   Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Relief (310-00A Fuel System - General Information - 1.5 L EcoBoost (118 kW/160 L PS) - I4, General Procedures).

   Disconnect the battery ground cable.
   Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

   Install the fuel line disconnect tool on the tube and press the spring lock coupling to release it.
   Use Special Service Tool: 310-250 Fuel Line Disconnect Tool.

   Separate the spring lock coupling from the tube.

   

Connect

   Align and install the spring lock coupling onto the tube until fully seated.

   Pull on the coupling to make sure it is fully engaged.

   Connect the battery ground cable.
