Passive Anti-Theft System

~1min read

Operating Principles

The system prevents the engine from starting with an incorrectly coded key.

Note: Do not leave keys with a correct code inside the vehicle. Always take your keys with you and lock all doors when you leave the vehicle.

Coded Keys

If you lose a key, you can obtain a replacement key from an authorized dealer. If possible, give them the key number shown on the label supplied with the original keys.

You can also obtain additional keys from an authorized dealer.

Note: If you lose a key, have the code erased from all remaining keys and a new code programmed. Have replacement keys coded and re-code your existing keys at the same time. Consult an authorized dealer for more information. Note: Keep metal objects away from the keys. They may prevent the transmitter from recognizing a coded key.

Immobilizer Activation

When you switch off the ignition, the immobilizer is automatically activated after a short period.

Immobilizer Deactivation

When you switch on the ignition, the immobilizer is automatically deactivated if a correctly coded key is used.

If you cannot start your vehicle with a correctly coded key, have your vehicle checked by an authorized dealer.
