Note: Fully defrost the windshield before switching on the windshield wipers. Note: Make sure the windshield wipers are switched off and the ignition is off before using an automatic car wash. Note: If streaks or smears appear on the windshield, clean the windshield and the wiper blades. See Checking the Wiper Blades (page 246). If the problem persists, fit new wiper blades. See Changing the Wiper Blades

Note: Do not operate the wipers on a dry windshield. This could scratch the glass, damage the wiper blades or burn out the wiper motor. Always use the washer fluid before switching on the wipers on a dry windshield.

  1. Single sweep.
  2. Intermittent wipe.
  3. Normal wipe.
  4. Fast wiping.

Note: Move the wiper lever to position O to switch off the system.

Intermittent wipe

Balayage intermittent

  1. Short wipe interval.
  2. Intermittent wipe.
  3. Long wipe interval.

Pull the lever up to switch on the wipers, then use the rotary control to adjust the intermittent wipe interval.

Speed-sensitive wipers (if equipped)

As your vehicle speed increases, the wipe interval decreases.
