WARNING

Failure to inspect and, if necessary, repair fuel leaks after a collision increases the risk of fire and serious injury. We recommend having the fuel system inspected by an authorised dealer after any collision.

In a moderate to severe collision, this vehicle is equipped with a fuel pump cut-off function that stops the fuel supply to the engine. Not all impacts will trigger a cut-off.

Note: When you try to restart your vehicle after a fuel cut-off, the vehicle checks that various systems can be restarted safely.

Once the vehicle has determined that the systems are safe, it can be restarted.

If the fuel supply to your vehicle has been cut off following a collision, you can restart your vehicle.

For vehicles equipped with a key system:

  1. Switch off the ignition.
  2. Switch the ignition back on.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to reactivate the fuel pump.

Note: If you are trying to restart a hybrid vehicle, check that the Ready to Drive indicator illuminates on the information display because, even if the diesel engine does not start, the electric motor may still operate. If the Ready to Drive indicator does not illuminate, repeat steps 1 and 2 up to two more times.

Note: If your vehicle does not restart after the third attempt, contact an authorised dealer.

For vehicles equipped with a push-button start/stop system:

  1. Press START/STOP to switch the ignition off.
  2. Depress the brake pedal and press START/STOP to switch the ignition on.
