HDC can be used when driving down a hill. It sets and maintains vehicle speed on a very steep downhill grade when driving forward or in reverse.

The HDC switch is located on the center console.

PressGMC Terrain. Hill Descent Control (HDC)to turn HDC on or off. Vehicle speed must be below 50 km/h.

The HDC indicator appears in the instrument cluster when HDC is turned on.

HDC can maintain vehicle speed from 3 to 22 km/h on a grade greater than or equal to 10%. A flashing HDC indicator means the system is actively braking to maintain vehicle speed.

When HDC is activated, the initial HDC set speed is the current vehicle speed. It can be increased or decreased by pressing +RES or –SET on the steering wheel, or by using the accelerator or brake pedal. This adjusted speed becomes the new set speed.

HDC will remain on between 22 and 60 km/h; however, vehicle speed cannot be set or maintained in this range. It will turn off automatically if vehicle speed is above 80 km/h or above 60 km/h for at least 30 seconds. PressGMC Terrain. Hill Descent Control (HDC)again to turn HDC back on.
