Driver Mode Control
Driver Mode Control has the following modes: Tour (FWD), All-Wheel Drive (AWD), Snow/Ice, and Tow/Haul. Turn the Driver Mode Control knob on the center console to select a mode. Continue turning the knob through the available modes. The icon of the selected mode will illuminate on the knob. The vehicle must be in Park to change between modes.

Driver Mode Control Knob for All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
(vehicles without AWD) or
(AWD vehicles) Tour Mode: Use Tour Mode during normal driving conditions. Tour Mode either places the vehicle in Front-Wheel Drive (AWD vehicles) or normal driving mode (FWD vehicles). Tour Mode is the most fuel-efficient driving mode. See Driving for Better Fuel Economy 0 27. When Tour Mode is selected, the AWD indicator will flash briefly while the system disengages, then remain off.
All-Wheel Drive Mode: In All-Wheel Drive Mode, the All-Wheel Drive system provides power to all four wheels, and the system adjusts as needed to improve traction. Selecting All-Wheel Drive Mode activates the system. The AWD indicator will flash briefly while the system is engaging and remain on to indicate AWD is active. All-Wheel Drive Mode will remain selected until another mode is chosen. AWD is active in Tow/Haul and Off-Road Modes. All-Wheel Drive Mode is only available on AWD vehicles.
Tow/Haul and Off-Road Modes are canceled each ignition cycle and will return to Tour Mode.
When using a compact spare tire on an AWD vehicle, the system automatically detects the compact spare and reduces AWD performance to protect the system. To restore full AWD operation and prevent excessive wear to the system, replace the compact spare tire with a full-size tire as soon as possible. See Compact Spare Tire.
Snow Mode: Snow Mode improves vehicle acceleration on snowy and icy roads. Snow Mode is not available on vehicles equipped with AWD.
Off-Road Mode: Use Off-Road Mode for recreational off-road driving. See Off-Road Driving. Off-Road Mode is only available on AWD vehicles.
Tow/Haul Mode: Tow/Haul Mode can help when towing or hauling heavy loads. It changes shift patterns, engages AWD if equipped, and increases trailer sway assistance. When Tow/Haul is activated, the Tow/Haul icon will illuminate in the instrument cluster. See Driving Characteristics and Towing Tips. Tow/Haul Mode is only available on vehicles with the trailering package.
Engine Braking helps when driving downhill. It maintains vehicle speed by automatically controlling the shift pattern, using the engine and transmission to slow the vehicle. The system will automatically command downshifts to reduce vehicle speed. The normal shift pattern will return once the vehicle is at a lower speed or when the accelerator pedal is pressed.
While in the Electronic Range Select (ERS) mode, grade braking is deactivated, allowing the range to be selected and limiting the maximum gear available. Grade braking is available for normal driving and in Tow/Haul Mode. See Manual Mode.
