Tires
In this manual: Vehicle Care
~1min read
Every new GM vehicle has high-quality tires provided by the tire manufacturer. See the warranty booklet for tire warranty information and where to obtain service. For additional information, refer to the tire manufacturer.
- Improper care and misuse of tires is dangerous.
- Overloading tires can cause overheating as a result of excessive flexing. There may be a tire explosion and serious crash. See Vehicle Load Limits.
- Underinflated tires are as dangerous as overloaded tires. A crash resulting in serious injury may occur. Check all tires often to maintain the recommended pressure. Tire pressure must be checked when the tires are cold.
- Overinflated tires are more likely to be cut, punctured, or broken by a sudden impact, such as hitting a pothole. Maintain the tires at the recommended pressure.
- Worn or old tires can cause failure. If the tread is badly worn, replace them.
- Replace all tires that have been damaged by impacts with potholes, curbs, etc.
- Improperly repaired tires may cause failure. Only a dealer or an authorized tire service center should repair, replace, remove, and install tires.
- Do not spin the tires in excess of 56 km/h on slippery surfaces such as snow, mud, ice, etc. Excessive wheel spin may cause the tires to explode.
