Tow/Haul Mode

Engine Braking

Engine Braking helps when driving downhill. It maintains vehicle speed by automatically controlling the shift pattern, using the engine and transmission to slow the vehicle. The system will automatically command downshifts to reduce vehicle speed. The normal shift pattern will return once the vehicle is at a lower speed or when the accelerator pedal is pressed.

While in Electronic Range Select (ERS) mode, engine braking is disabled, allowing the driver to select the range and limit the highest available gear. Engine braking is available for normal driving and in Tow/Haul Mode.
