To prevent the driver's floor mat supplied with the vehicle from shifting, it has loops that fit over the retaining clips. This prevents the mat from shifting, which could interfere with pedal operation.

When placing the previously removed driver's floor mat on the floor, be sure to secure it in the vehicle again.

If you decide to use floor mats from another manufacturer, make sure they can be reliably secured against shifting with the retaining clips. Do not place a second mat on top of a mat that is secured in place.
