Catalytic converter (for vehicles with gasoline engine)

~1min read

A high temperature is maintained for the chemical reactions in the catalytic converter to proceed efficiently. Therefore, combustible materials located near or in contact with the converter may ignite. Do not stop the vehicle on high dry grass, on ground covered with dry fallen leaves, or on easily flammable debris.

Fill the fuel tank only with unleaded gasoline. Even a small amount of leaded gasoline can "poison" the catalyst and completely disable the catalytic converter.
