Safety features installed on your vehicle

Your vehicle is equipped with a range of safety features designed to protect the driver and passengers in the event of a road traffic accident.
Some safety features do not require any action on your part. These include:
a rigid steel body structure forming the passenger safety cage; front and rear crumple zones that absorb impact energy; a telescopic steering column; pyrotechnic seat belt pretensioners that instantly tighten the belts in the event of a collision.
However, for these safety features to work to their full potential, the driver and passengers must sit in the correct position and wear their seat belts.
Improper use of certain safety features may even increase the risk of injury in a road traffic accident.
The following explains how you can play an active role in ensuring your own safety and the safety of your passengers.
