Air cleaner
Filter Replacement

■ 1.6 T-GDI

■ 2.0 MPI
The air filter element can be cleaned with compressed air for inspection.
Do not attempt to wash or rinse it, as water may damage the filter.
If the filter is contaminated, the air filter element must be replaced.

1. Loosen the air cleaner cover clamps and open the cover.
2. Wipe the inside of the air cleaner.

3. Replace the air filter element.

4. Insert the air cleaner cover into the hinge and secure the clamp after closing the cover.
5. Make sure the cover is securely installed.
Information
If the vehicle is operated in very dusty or sandy areas, replace the element more often than the normal recommended intervals (see "Severe Operating Conditions" in this chapter).
NOTICE
- Do not drive with the air filter removed. This will cause excessive engine wear.
- When removing the air filter, take care that dust or dirt does not enter the air intake, as this may cause damage.
- Use only genuine HYUNDAI parts. Using non-genuine parts may damage the mass air flow sensor.
