Power Windows
The ignition switch must be in the ON position to raise or lower the windows. Each door has a Power Window switch to control the window of that door. The driver's door has a power window lock switch that can disable the operation of the passenger window. Power windows will operate for approximately 30 seconds after the ignition switch is moved to the ACC or LOCK/OFF position. However, if either front door is opened, the power windows cannot operate even within the 30 seconds.
WARNING
To avoid serious injury or death, do not put your head, hands, or body outside the window while the vehicle is moving.
Information
- In cold and humid climates, power windows may not operate properly due to freezing conditions.
- While driving with the rear windows lowered or the sunroof (if equipped) open (or partially open), the vehicle may exhibit wind buffeting or a pulsating noise. This noise is normal and can be reduced or eliminated by performing the following. If the noise occurs with one or both rear windows lowered, lower both front windows approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm). If you hear the noise with the sunroof open, slightly close the sunroof.
Opening and Closing the Window

To open:
Press the power window switch down to the first detent position (5). Release the switch when you want the window to stop.
Closing:
Pull the power window switch up to the first detent position (5). Release the switch when you want the window to stop.
Auto Down Power Window (if equipped)
Briefly press the power window switch down to the second detent position (6) to fully lower the window even after the switch is released. To stop the window at a desired position during operation, pull up or press down and release the switch.
Auto Up/Down Power Window (if equipped)
Briefly press or pull up the power window switch to the second detent position (6) to fully lower or raise the window even after the switch is released. To stop the window at a desired position during operation, pull up or press down and release the switch.
Resetting the Power Windows
If the power windows do not operate normally, the automatic power window system must be reset as follows:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the window and continue pulling up the power window switch for at least one second.
If the power windows do not operate properly after resetting, have the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
The auto reverse function is not activated when the power window system is reset. Before closing the windows, make sure body parts or other objects are clear of the windows to avoid injury or vehicle damage.
